There’s a Reason We Have a Love Affair With Trucks

There’s a Reason We Have a Love Affair With Trucks

While there are many different types of cars on the road today, and even more being made in the meantime, the team at Antero Automotive has a genuine love affair with trucks. You may not be a truck lover yet, so read on to discover why you should be! First and foremost, trucks are known for power. While many people prefer the zip that comes with a smaller car, trucks can’t be beaten when it comes to powerful engines. While your fuel economy might suffer for this (especially with diesel!), the feeling of hitting that gas pedal and feeling your engine roar to life is second to none. Next on the list of why we love trucks so much is because of their hauling capacity. This is a huge reason why so many people fall in love with and utilize trucks; they can carry a load! A truck bed is imperative for many types of labor and jobs, making trucks ideal for working men or women. With the capability to get the job done, no car can compare to a pickup truck’s carrying capacity. Similar ... read more

Why own a hybrid?

Why own a hybrid?

There are many reasons to own a hybrid, but not everyone is easy to convince! With so many different hybrid options now available on the market, there’s a hybrid out there for every price point and style. Read on for why you should own a hybrid, and some of the essential hybrid services Antero Automotive can help you take care of! Hybrids are economical vehicles, and this is due to one significant difference between a hybrid and a conventional car. The simple explanation for what the difference between a hybrid and a standard gasoline engine is in the way that its engine gets power. A hybrid uses more than one type of propulsion by combining both a gasoline engine with an electric motor. This allows hybrids to consume less fuel while simultaneously emitting less CO2 than a regular gasoline or diesel engine. The actual driving of a hybrid is very similar to conventional cars, so performance is rarely an issue. You also have your pick of power modes, so depending on your destinatio ... read more

How to show your car some love: The importance of keeping your car in alignment, especially newer cars with automated driving/self-parking and adaptive cruise

February is an important month to show your love for the people who are important in your lives but also for your car! Take the time to show your vehicle some love this month. One of the greatest efforts you can make to show your love is to keep your car in alignment, especially newer cars with automated driving/self-parking and adaptive cruise.   When your vehicle is out of alignment, it can make for a rough ride. It can also be tough to steer and your tires are going to wear at an uneven rate. When your vehicle is in alignment, it’s a smooth ride. Your wheels face front and are straight. You also get the most out of the life of your tires and your gas mileage is improved.   When it comes to those newer cars with automated driving/self-parking and adaptive cruise, it requires some extra love. Regular alignments are highly technical. When it comes to these newer vehicles with specialized technology, it gets far more complex. You want a trained technician who has the exp ... read more

How to Drive During the Winter

Following the old adage, if the weather is bad, stay home if you are able.  Before heading out, check the weather. If it looks bad out there, delay your trip if possible. If you still have to go out, call family or friends to let them know where you are going, what time you plan to arrive, and what route you are taking. Take an extra walk around your car, be sure your wipers are in good working order, that your fluids are full and your tires are inflated to recommended specifications. Plan to refill when your tank reaches ½ full. When accelerating or decelerating, do it slowly. While applying the gas, slow is best to regain traction and avoid skids, take your time to slow down for a stoplight, it takes longer to slow down on slippery or icy roads. Try to increase your stopping distance by 5 or 6 seconds; it may just give you the necessary margin of safety when you need to stop unexpectedly. It's always best to take your time to slow down for a red light and don't ... read more
